Construction of a Memorial in Honour of Leslie and Payne

SHP Construction & Civil is honoured to be a part of the creation of this special monument in remembrance of Warrant Officer Class 2 Ryan Leslie and Craftsman Brendon Payne whose lives were tragically lost during a training exercise. Due to the benevolent nature of this project, it was important to operate within a strict budget and SHP endeavoured to ensure the requests of the soldiers’ families were fulfilled with minimal outlay.
The remote location of the memorial site posed a challenge, but with effective communication and coordination between the SHP Team, the Leslie and Payne Memorial Committee, and representatives from the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RAEME), construction was achieved in time for the formal opening.
Timeliness was an essential element for this project due to the formal opening being scheduled on the second anniversary of the accident. SHP prides itself in its flexibility and versatility and was dedicated to ensuring successful delivery of this project its highest priority.
