July 2023 - March 2024
SHP Construction & Civil mobilised teams to manage two remote projects concurrently at the Mount Isa Tafe. The projects consisted of construction of amenities and staff office, and replacement of the roof, both located at Block B within the TAFE. SHP regularly delivers projects for the Department of Energy and Public Works and is therefore familiar with the high level of standards that are applied to the quality of work and the processes involved regarding safety and the environment. The works involved demolition of the existing roof including termination, alteration, or protection of services, and removal and disposal of all existing roof sheeting, flashings, downpipes, guttering, hot water system, whirly birds, dektites, and other associated roof debris. SHP then supplied and installed new Colorbond steel roofing, insulation, additional accessories, fastening clips and brackets, roofing screws, flashings, gutters, dektites / roof penetrations, skylights, box gutters, and downpipes. SHP also constructed two additional covered walkways as a variation to the original project scope.
