Redecoration of Various Buildings at RAAF Townsville

SHP Construction & Civil carried out the complete redecoration of five buildings located at the RAAF Base Townsville, involving necessary repairs and various replacements of damaged or dilapidated features. Works included the conversion of a disused plant room into a secure maintenance and storage facility, the construction of a ramp for equipment access, patching and painting of the exterior and interior of the buildings including rust treatment where necessary, the replacement of wall and skirting tiles, supply and installation of a Hydrotap feature in the lunchroom, repairing of roof leakages and internal water damage and also installation of possum proofing where required. SHP also carried out the removal of ACM eve sheets and ACM vinyl tiles and disposal of all contaminated material in accordance with WHS guidelines. SHP was heavily consulted on structural and architectural fit out requirements as no selections were made at tender. SHP was able to provide value for money fit for purpose solutions specific for defence requirements. SHP also undertook a roof report as requested by the client and significant structural issues were discovered so SHP replaced all the roof purlins, without removing the ceiling and replaced all the roof sheeting and flashings with new.
